Sam appeared in the role of finisher in the decisive ODI against India for which Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known. Sam kept England’s hopes of victory alive until the end. The visitors had lost seven wickets for 200 runs and needed 130 runs to win. Everyone was assuming that the Indian bowlers would easily win by three wickets and win but Sam was not going to return so easily.Sam carried the score with the lower-order batsmen and remained frozen till the end. Seeing him, the team’s acting captain, Jos Buttler, felt that not Sam but Mahendra Singh Dhoni were frozen at the crease. After the match, Butler said Dhoni would be the most perfect person to talk to Sam Karen about the match. He said Sam would also like to talk to Dhoni after his innings.
#INDvsENG Hats off to Sam Curran.Brilliant fight shown by him.
“I’m pretty sure Sam would like to talk to Mahendra Singh Dhoni about his innings,” Buttler said. Just as he was playing, it seemed that Dhoni was accumulating on the field under such circumstances. He will be the right person for Sam to talk about today’s match. Everyone knows how good a finisher he is. Sharing a dressing room with Dhoni can teach you a lot.”
