Praying during difficult times
Praying during difficult times, and this isone of these difficult times. Perhaps the worst that we have witnessed overa period of, I would say, 100 years or more This pandemic has created such fear, discomfort, challenge, agony globally. And how do you respond to it? You know, this is thoughtoftheday.in the time that there is alikelihood that we go to God and then pray because there is no medicine now available. And then the virus spreads in many, many mysteriousways including the asymptomatic way that you carry the virus, infecting others. You don’t have any symptoms. That’s the most dangerous. So enigmatic.
Praying during difficult times
You know, although God doesn’t exist, so,according to the atheists. The anthropologists and psychologists woulddo that, like Freud and Malinovski, and others would say that it is a crutch. When there is no explanation for something, then you just create God. I’m not going to go into that. Because I want to be very useful to myselfand to you during this time that we spent together. Praying during this difficult time is verydifficult, very difficult. I’ll give you an example. Ramana Maharshi, who is considered to be themost enlightened person who lived in recent times. He just passed away in 1950 and was acclaimedby everyone as authentic and highly walked, and one with God and with the university didn’tbelieve in God. But he’s not an atheist because he believedin evolution or understanding the true nature of oneself. Intriguingly, Ramana Maharshi himself developedcancer and it was a very painful cancer. And he was crying.

The cancer pain was unbearable. And his teaching was just go on inquiringwho you are, who you are, who you are, and then at one point you will understand whenyou are asking who am I? Then you are not the body, you are not themind, you are the highest self. This mind doesn’t matter. You all have realized. There was a doctor who was attending to him,the medical doctor and he saw him in great deal of pain and asked the Maharishi, “Yousay that you don’t exist, the body doesn’t exist. The mind doesn’t thoughtoftheday.in exist. And you are crying. And there’s blood, a tremendous amount ofblood coming out of your body from the cancer. If you are not the body, if you are not themind who is crying? But then, if you, yourself can’t fix yourbody or mind, then what is the use for people like us who are unenlightened, who are ordinaryhuman beings?” He did not answer the question. The reason why I’m talking about it, it canbe approached from different perspectives.
You are the body, you are the mind. And that’s a reality. That cannot be just ditched as illusion. Maybe for an enlightened person, but evenfor this enlightened person, when you have cancer, what are you going to do? You’re going to cry and then the cancer iseventually going to kill you. Now, in the model that the Maharishi followed, there was no God, per se. So there is nowhere he can go to pray. He was thinking that he is done with whateverneeds to be done with the body, mind. On one fine day, he dropped dead. So you can have any number of ways of understandingwho is God and what is prayer. All these things can be there in any numberof ways, you can relate to this. The mind is real. The disease is also real. The lack of money is real. It’s all real. And how do you fix it? You have to fix it. If we don’t fix it, it will be even more painful. Does God Exist? Yes he does. He exists. And in what form? In whatever form you can see him.
Praying during difficult times
If you say that he is Allah, he is Allah. If you say that it is Yaweh. He is Yaweh. If you call it Shiva, or Vishnu, or whatevername you call on, he’s there. Or she’s there. You can be Goddess too.So the question whether God does exist ornot, is irrelevant. For the time being just consider it is relevant,we need to fix the problem. Whether it is a bodily problem or money problemor depression, you need to fix it and how to fix it in this time even if you are naturallyinclined to believe in God, go the church and all these things and then when you lostyour job, there is no money in the bank plus the coronavirus is going to affect you, orit has affected you already and then the family’s also likely to get affected, all these thingscome and attack you and how can you pray during this time it’s a challenge. But you should pray regardless. It’s hard. I’m not saying that it’s easy. It is hard. But make it a point that you have no otheroption available. At least you have been put in a tight spotand then pray. There will be a miracle. There will be a miracle. Because there is not just one God. There are many Gods who are waiting on you. Even in the Bible, God sent every soul here,he sent angels to take care of them. So there are angels around everybody. There are a couple of angels at least to protectyou because this is a plane where you need protection. Human intelligence is not that powerful. We cannot see anything other than what youcan see with the limitations of your eyes, the limitations of your ears, you cannot,we can hear only a certain range of sounds and beyond that you cannot hear. Like Tesla used to hear a bell ringing 10miles away from where he was, thoughtoftheday.in and that he had the extraordinary power 10 miles awaya chargeable ringing you’d hear and that’s the reason he was in super intelligence.
So, there is super intelligence and this superintelligence can fix your problem as no other person can do. So you cannot fix the problem of corona orfix the problem of your financial conditions or depression, but God can. Prayer can. And prayer is so powerful. Whenever you go to the Old Testament it says,“Call on me. And I will give you the end of the world asto our inheritance.” And he then says, “You are slaves.” You may not read it the second part of it. We don’t want to make anybody a slave butthe end of the world as your inheritance, call on me, when you call on God, He willrespond or she will respond. There is no doubt about it. But then you have to do it with most faithwhich is the challenging thing at this point, because the mind is, you know, has been challengedso much with a reality that completely overpowers you and depresses you and this depressed mindwhere faith has been completely destroyed. You cannot pray like the example I gave ofRamana Maharshi who has cancer and cancer and somebody says you are going to die intwo months or three months like a pancreatic cancer or something. Can you pray? It’s very difficult. But not impossible.
But I’ve seen so many people who prayed atthose time and then just they reversed their Stage Four cancers. Pray in whatever form you call him. Imagine him, it could be even a teacher, likeJesus never called himself as God. He sometimes said that me and the Father areOne, but predominantly his teaching is about God, about the Holy Spirit. He talked about how the Holy Spirit can domuch better than what he has been doing. And then he has to go so that the Holy Ghostwill come and do a better job. And he did. He prayed many times. God was a reality for him. With my father, everything is possible. He never said with me everything is possible. But then what happened? We have made him God and now Jesus becameGod because you begin to make that India reality and then the Jews don’t. But the Christians do. So when you pray, there will be a breakthrough. But pray with all your heart with unity, withutter faith. It is said that we are faith like a mustardseed, thoughtoftheday.in you can move mountains. But always pray with all your heart, withall your mind, with all your soul. And the true prayer is just to cry. Keep crying, cry, I can’t do anything. Cry out of desperation and God is infinitelycompassionate, every God. Don’t say this that your God is not compassionate. My God is compassionate. That’s nonsense. Don’t waste your time on that. So the ground rule. This is the most important point. The ground rule is there is only one ruleand that rule is if we believe in see Jesus, Jesus becomes God, if we believe in anotherMessiah, that Messiah, the Buddha, he becomes the God or we don’t believe in neither ofthem and then believe in a way that he becomes the God. She becomes the godlike Mother Mary becomesthe God. So, what is important is your faith and thenhow do you know what my faith is or your faith is? You should know. You should know. You should know who is responding. You have to check that out. Now, I tell many people, you know, when theycome and ask me, “Are you my guru?” I said, “I cannot answer the question. I could, but I don’t want to. You ask the question yourself. And if you can relate to me 100 percent, thenyou would not have asked this question or you are troubled and now you want me to giveyou an answer, I can’t give you an answer. domain, and you will know who to pray to. And that’s one thing. So once you have made the decision of whoto pray to, then you have to get into a quiet state of mind where the ego disappears. If we pray like in a neurotic way withoutestablishing the quietness of the self, and that’s not going to work. So how do you do that? Now yesterday I taught this meditation withmy hands stretched out. If you do this right away and then put out,you can see that it is a way of praying. It’s a great tool. Immediately find that the fingers begin totingle. And then it is God contacting you. This is the most complex, most profound, andeasiest also of all the techniques that I have taught.
